What charities can I support? return to menu

official local charity that has partnered with the Mount Desert Island Marathon's Beyond the Finish
Line program, keeping in mind that many of these organizations provide volunteers and other
essential resources for our event.

After you complete the registration process a personal charity fundraising page will be
created and sent (via e-mail) to you as well as other information. You can then ask your friends,
family and co-workers to sponsor you and support your efforts in the 2010 MDI Marathon
Beyond the Finish Line charitable fundraising program.

What happens if I am unable to raise the funds? return to menu
In order to register you must provide us with a credit card number. This card will be charged for the balance due if you fall short of your $1000 fund raising pledge.
Is there a time limit to complete my fundraising? return to menu
Your $1000 fundraising commitment must be completed by race day, October 17, 2010 to avoid being
charged for any balance that has not been collected. You can continue raising additional funds
indefinitely should you be so inclined.
How do I collect funds? return to menu
There are two categories of donations - online and offline:
- ONLINE - Donations pledged online are collected directly through your personal fundraising page
that will be created and sent to you. ActiveGiving forwards these funds directly to the official
charity you have selected and notifies the MDI Marathon office of the
donation.
- OFFLINE - Money may be collected directly by you in the form of checks payable to the CHARITY you are supporting, with YOUR NAME in the memo line so that the donation is credited toward your fundraising pledge. Checks should be mailed to:
Mount Desert Island Marathon
c/o 'Beyond the Finish Line'
PO Box 117
Northeast Harbor, ME 04662
(DO NOT SEND CASH! Instead, send as check or money order.)
